The Story of Five Paths

This is the story of five people—Freelancer, Part-Timer, Employed, Entrepreneur, and Businessman—five friends who lived in the same town, shared the same café table, but followed completely different journeys in life.

Every morning, they met at Jinkspire Café, and one day, they decided to explain what each of their paths truly meant.


Freelancer — The Free Worker

Freelancer arrived first, carrying a laptop and a pocket full of ideas.

“I work with my skills,” he said cheerfully. “I’m hired per project. No boss. No fixed times. Sometimes I design, sometimes I write, sometimes I edit videos. I choose who I work with.”

Some months he earned a lot.
Some months he earned little.

“But I love freedom,” he said. “My time is my own.”


Part-Timer — The Balancer

Part-Timer walked in next, calm and bright.

Fate: The Uncontrollable Path That Still Gives Us Choices

People often talk about fate as something mysterious or distant, but for me, fate is actually much simpler than that. It’s the part of life we cannot control — the circumstances we’re born into, the unexpected events that happen to us, and the moments that show up without our permission. Fate sets the stage, whether we’re ready for it or not.

But here’s the idea that feels most true to me:

Fate may be outside our control, but it still gives us chances — moments where we choose who we become.

Even if we can’t change the situation we’re given, we can decide how to respond. In every challenge, every opportunity, and every mistake, there is a moment where we get to choose a direction: toward something good or toward something harmful. That choice belongs to us, not to fate.

In that way, fate isn’t a strict force that pushes our lives in a single direction. Instead, it’s more like a series of doors that suddenly appear. We didn’t choose the door to show up — fate placed it there — but we are the ones who choose whether to walk through it or turn away.

This way of seeing fate brings a strange kind of comfort. It means that not everything is in our hands, and we don’t need to blame ourselves for every unexpected twist in life. But it also means we aren’t powerless. We still have agency, responsibility, and the ability to grow.
